The Volcom Artist Series Competition 2009, Art-prize entry winner Crystal or Stone. Explores the use of geometric formed line-work, and to further develop the series of experimental work I have entitled ‘Crystal Ink’.

- The Volcom Artist Series 2009, was a great motivator for me to create something unique for the competition and to further develop the series of experimental work I have entitled ‘Crystal Ink’. Crystal Ink expresses the use of fractal paradigms rendered in an experimental style, symbolizing growth, nature, and illusion.The basis of the design 'Crystal or Stone', was built from the Volcom stone, where I started with the basic structure and then fragmented and expanded the line work into a detailed composition. The original drawings are on art paper, scanned and then digitally artworked for the final.
